BTO – acronym for Buy Tourism Online – was founded in 2008 to offer tour operators, especially those involved in hospitality, two days of conferences on how the Internet has radically changed the way people buy their travel.

Revisiting past editions of BTO is like watching a documentary on how travel has changed and how technological innovation has radically changed the way of relating between supply and demand: by the tourist who equips him/herself with new tools to search for, evaluate and book tourist services, by the Tourist Destinations that preside over the web and social networks to inspire potential visitors, by the offer of tourist products and services that have found new channels of distribution.

Over the years, BTO has opened up to new audiences: from the Governance of Tourist Destinations, to those who study and do research, to those who are working or will be working in tourism, to those involved in marketing, to information communication technology companies.

From a predominantly regional event, it has been gaining more and more national relevance since its second edition, becoming a point of reference, thanks to its recognized scientific rigor, its themes that are always up-to-date and to its unconventional mood.
