Rodolfo Baggio

Professor Università Bocconi

He has a degree in Physics and a PhD in Tourism Management. After having worked for more than twenty years as a computer scientist in some well-known “leading companies in the sector”, he devoted himself to university teaching, in Italy and abroad and to research on complex tourism systems and their relationships with information technologies.

On these topics he has published half a dozen books and some one hundred articles for international conferences and scientific journals.

He currently teaches digital strategies in the Master’s degree courses in Tourism Economics and is a Research Fellow at the “Carlo F. Dondena” Centre for Research on Social Dynamics and Public Policies at the Bocconi University in Milan.

He is a fellow of the Royal Geographical Society, a member of the Società Italiana di Fisica (Italian Society of Physics), and he was one of the founders of the Italian section of the Internet Society.

Due to his scientific contributions, he received the Hannes Werthner Lifetime Achievement Award from IFITT (International Federation for Information Technology and Travel & Tourism) in 2017.
