Fixed-term researcher at the European University of Rome

Carmen Bizzarri, holding a PhD, currently has the role of type A researcher and in May 2024 she will be serving as associate professor in economic geography at the European University of Rome.

Formerly, coordinator of the Master’s degree in Management of Tourist Organizations at the European University of Rome, she has written two monographs, made several contributions to numerous collective volumes and publications in national and international journals on tourism issues and on the sustainable and inclusive enhancement of resources for tourism purposes in various territorial contexts.

She is a member of the scientific committee of the “Generative Welfare, Sustainability and Rights” research centre at the European University of Rome, of the Gran Sasso International Forum, BTO, of the Radici tourism committee at the Maeci (Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation) and treasurer of Sistur (the Italian Society of Tourism Sciences) as well as national vice president of Confassociazioni turismo (Confederation of Professional Associations of Tourism), with responsibility for sustainable tourism.

She is a member of the Scientific Advisory Board of the new series “Tourism Studies in the Mediterranean Region” and of the Science Publishing Group, and she is also a proofreader for numerous international journals.
