Valeria Minghetti

Research area manager CISET

She is head of the research area of CISET, International Centre for Studies on the Economics of Tourism, founded by Ca’ Foscari University Venice and the Veneto Region.

She has 30 years of experience in research, consulting and training on tourism issues and for CISET she has collaborated on or coordinated several projects on behalf of national and international organisations (ISTAT, EUROSTAT, European Commission, UNWTO, OECD, etc.) projects financed with European funds (Interreg ITA-HR S.LI.DES, INNOSOSS-PSR Veneto, etc.).

Among her main areas of interest: market intelligence; the impact of technological innovation on tourism; the assessment of the socio-economic impact of tourism and the conditions of sustainability/responsibility of the phenomenon; the development of strategies and policies for the territory and destination.

Minghetti has been a member of the IFITT Steering Committee. She is currently a member of the Scientific Committee of BTO – Be Travel Online, the Scientific Committee of ENTER and the Editorial Board of JITT (Journal of Information Technology and Tourism).
